“ I didn't want to go into my VBAC (vaginal birth after Caesarean) without a woman by side who had been there and knew what was going on. My first birth was an emergency c-section with no labor, so I had never experienced it and wanted to set myself (and my husband) up for the best possible experience. I spoke to several doulas but really only hit it off with Tara. She was transparent and communicative leading up to the birth, and I felt confident that she understood and was supportive of my choices after our prep meetings. And although Tara is about my age (or probably younger), she cared for me with the comforting, maternal presence that I hoped for and can only hope to exude myself one day. She put me in Spinning babies positions that effectively moved baby down (one release got him from -2 to 0 station in minutes!), and she was always at my side with my fluids and ice chips. Her continuous care allowed my husband to rest and sleep without me ever feeling alone. He said afterwards that it was the best money we've ever spent.  I highly recommend her services and will definitely be requesting her help if we have another child.”

“Working with Sara was one of the best decisions I made for my birth plan! My husband was skeptical that a doula could be beneficial, but after labor, he even agreed that she was the best decision we could have made. From supporting me throughout pregnancy, showing up during early labor, helping me breathe and work through hard contractions, providing counter pressure, reminding me to eat a bite and helping us decide when to transfer to the birth center, Sara’s presence during my labor helped achieve the birth I had prayed for.”

Tara was a key part of my dream birth team. In the short duration until she arrived, I had a contraction where fear set in, along with increasingly immense pain. The next thing I knew, Tara walked in my birthing room and jumped into action, bringing me immediate relief, both physically and emotionally. She did things that I couldn’t think to ask for, big and small, that kept me focused on what I needed to do. Her presence alone brought such comfort. By nature, by trade (as a nurse and doula), and by intentionally getting to know her clients, she is able to confidently and calmly bring comfort and relief to birthing mothers. She is intuitive in her practice and also brings joy to the prenatal and birthing experience. I can’t imagine having done birth without her!

“My partner and I were so happy to have Sara as our doula for the birth of our first child. She was extremely professional from the beginning and stood out from the other doulas we interviewed with her extensive experience, deep knowledge of the body and calm confidence. We both looked at each other immediately and said "SHE'S THE ONE!" Sara reviewed pregnancy, birth, lactation and postpartum concepts with us in a straight-forward, matter-of-fact, non-pedagogic way, and always made sure to confirm and honor our birth wishes. Throughout my 38 hour labor & delivery experience, Sara was available and present. She empowered me to trust my body and encouraged me to surrender to the process, which became my mantra for my labor. Even in the throes of my most difficult moments, Sara kept her poise and calm, continuing to be a rock for me and a "team captain" for our birth team (comprising my partner and my sister). Now several weeks after the experience, my partner and I keep saying to each other how valuable Sara's role in our birth journey was, how she was truly worth much more than we paid for her services. Thank you so much Sara!”

“Tara was absolutely amazing! I had a long 24 hour labor at home and Tara was able to help me using her expertise in birthing positions and distraction techniques. She prayed over me and my baby and welcomed God into my birthing space. My husband and I felt completely supported though the entire process and will absolutely be utilizing her services in the future. I feel truly blessed that Tara was able to support me during the birth of my first child.”

“Sara was amazing across the board. She prayed with us, loved on us, encouraged us, laughed with us, and cried with us. Though we didn't know her before being pregnant, we love her and consider her a trustworthy friend - first and foremost - along with our doula. When we have more children, we will undoubtedly call Sara to walk with us on our next journey. This is an invaluable service for both the mother and father, providing: Peace, confidence, clarity, love, kindness, and care. We love you, Sara!”

We couldn’t imagine the first birth of our daughter without Tara. It didn’t go as planned as my water broke before labor started so my dream of laboring at home was not a possibility. After being admitted to the hospital without labor starting, Tara came promptly to the hospital and had me do a circuit that put me into labor. My labor was only 5 hours and I attribute that to the advice Tara gave at prenatal visits and the exercises she guided us through before active labor. She took command of the hospital room and added such an encouraging light to the room - all the nurses were looking to her!! She advocated for my desires. I have no birth trauma, only positive memories and I attribute that first to prayer and preparation and second to Tara!! I call her my “walking pitocin”.

“The Birth Service Doula support is amazing! I believe that I was divinely led to find them and I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Tara. She is kind, caring and passionate about her work. I knew that me and my baby would be in great hands under her care. Although there were some things with my labor that were unexpected, having Tara on our side gave us the stability and comfort we needed to make decisions and have the birth experience we desired.”

“We had an amazing experience with both Sara and Tara. Sara was our main point of contact and who we did our prenatal visits with. I ended up going into labor while Sara was on vacation and Tara stepped in to support us. That being said, Sara was texting with me and helped us identify that this was the real deal and told us it was probably time to connect to Tara. My husband found Tara’s support while I was at home laboring invaluable. She talked him through things he could do to support me and sent him photos via text to start going through the Miles Circuit. Being first time parents you don’t know what to expect and it gave him comfort to know he could call or text with questions and that she would help guide him on when we needed to leave for the birth center. I ended up having a much quicker labor than I would have ever thought and arrived at the birth center complete. Tara was quick to make the atmosphere at the birth center just like I had envisioned (dimming the lights, playing the Christian Hypnobirthing App, etc). After giving birth I ended up needing to get transferred to the hospital due to a retained placenta and Tara followed us there. She was an advocate and thoughtful with her questions. We have nothing but good things to say about The Birth Service. They feel like an extended part of our family now and we plan to use their services again for a future pregnancy!”

“From the beginning, Sara was both educational and incredibly attentive to my desires for labor. She made me feel heard and worked alongside my husband and I as we made decisions regarding birth. I am grateful for her calm spirit and support through the process. I know I would not have had the labor I did if it weren’t for Sara and her knowledge, encouragement, and advocacy. If I can help it, I will never have a delivery without Sara as my doula!”
